ALIGARH December 19: Major General (Professor) G G Dwivedi, Department of West Asian Studies, Aligarh Muslim University attended the annual International Studies Convention-2013 on “Re-Imagining Global Orders: Perspectives from the South’’ at Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi. The three-day event was supported by Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India and Indian Council of Social Sciences Research. Leading Indian universities collaborated in the organization of the convention.

In his paper, ‘Rebalancing Asia-Pacific: Emerging Security Dynamics’’, Professor Dwivedi focused on the region’s geo-strategic architecture, polarization trends, on-going arms race, emerging balance of power equations and India’s strategic options.

The convention was inaugurated by Shri Salman Khursheed, Minister for External Affairs. Shri Shivshankar Menon, National Security Adviser delivered a talk on Indian Strategic Culture. About four hundred delegates, including foreign experts, attended the convention.
