AMU Sr. Sec. School (Boys) organizes literary event

Winners of Inter School Badminton Tournament with OSD and Principal +2 Boys School, AMUALIGARH, January 31: The Literary and Cultural Society of Senior Secondary School (Boys), Aligarh Muslim University organized inter school Debate and Ghazal Singing competitions as part of Republic Day celebrations.

Addressing the inaugural function, Principal, Maj. (Retd) SM Mustafa exhorted the students to make best use of their time and facilities available in the School and develop their personalities on desired lines. He said that their sincerity will be the most befitting tribute to the founding fathers of our great nation.

Dr. Afifullah Khan, OSD, urged the students to keep themselves away from undesirable activities and make efforts to achieve their goal with single minded devotion towards their studies.

The first event was Ghazal singing competition, which was judged by Dr. Mohd. Abu Saleh and Dr. Mohd. lIyas. Shahnawaz Ansari of Senior Secondary School (Boys) won first prize while Mohd. Arbaz of STS High School and Syed Mudassir Ali of ABK High School (Boys) won second and third prize respectively.

In Debate on “Only youth can put the Indian politics on right path”, first prize was shared by Miss Atika of AMU Girls High School and Asif Saood of Senior Secondary School (Boys) while second prize went to Mohd. Rauf of Senior Secondary School (Boys) and third prize was shared by Prateek Baghel of Senior Secondary School (Boys) and Dushyant Mittal of AMU City High School. Mr. Ghufran Ahmad and Mr. Ashhad Jamal judged the event.

Mr. Ghufran Ahmad urged the students to participate in such events without paying any heed to winning or losing the competition. He said that a continuous endeavour will certainly pay good dividends. He appreciated the students who mustered courage to speak out from podium.
