Seminar on “Social Responsiveness: Managerial Insights & Perspectives” held at AMU

National Seminar at Department of Business AdministrationALIGARH, February 26- The Department of Business Administration, Faculty of Management Studies and Research, Aligarh Muslim University organized a National Seminar on “Social Responsiveness: Managerial Insights and Perspectives”. AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt Gen (Retd) Zameer Uddin Shah graced the inaugural session as Chief Guest.

Mr. Dhruv Lakra, CEO, Mirakle Couriers, Mumbai, Dr. Rakesh Suri, VP, Tech Drive and President, Computer Shiksha, New Delhi and Mr. Akshay Singh, National Head, Corporate Partnerships, Fund Development and Communication, SOS Children’s Villages, New Delhi spoke on various aspects of the topic.

Mr Dhruv spoke at length about empowering differently-abled people and bringing out their inner potential by making them self-confident. Dhruv founded Mirakle Couriers in Mumbai, an innovative non-profit courier service which employs low-income deaf youth for making deliveries while the office is run by deaf women. Dhruv is the recipient of Helen Keller Award, CNN IBN Indian of the year, Times Now Amazing Indians, National Award from the President of India, and the highest civilian award given by the Jammu and Kashmir Government.

Mr Akshay Singh spoke about his passion of adding value to non-profit organizations. He elaborated on his contributions in building brand awareness for childcare organization like SOS Children’s Villages and encouraging donors to support them. Mr Akshay Singh also shed light on Corporate Social Responsibility and the role of SOS Villages in India.

Dr Rakesh Suri, an alumnus of AMU, shared his enriching experiences with the students of the faculty.

Professor Israrul Haque, Chairman and Dean of Faculty, formally welcomed the guests. Professor Valeed Ahmad Ansari proposed a vote of thanks. Dr Feza Tabassum Azmi conducted the programme.
