Aligarh Muslim University held Autostroke workshop

aligarh muslim university ALIGARH, Feb 9- Aligarh Muslim University’s Zakir Hussain College of Engineering & Technology in association with Codex Design and Rendezvous, IIT Delhi hosted a zonal workshop ‘AUTOSTROKE 2015’.

The three-day national design challenge on Automobile Design and Analysis, which ended on February 8, focused on imparting the basics as well as the finer nuances of Automobile Engineering.

It comprised discussion of many components like Design technology, vehicle dynamics including drive train illustration and Solid Works Design.

“This is a great initiative taken by ZHCET to instill in the young engineer’s mind the importance of workshops. The students participated enthusiastically in the workshop, eager to gain knowledge about Automobile Engineering,” said the Principal of Zakir Hussain College of Engineering and Technology, Prof Sher Afghan.

The First Day of the workshop included a lecture on basic components of vehicle dynamics and a one to one interaction. “The students put forward many queries which were very well answered by the instructors and a day-long session on SolidWorks Design which helped the students understand the industrial requirements of Computer Aided Design (CAD) followed in the day,” confirmed Prof Afghan.

The students learnt the methodology, terms and techniques of designing on their laptops.

The workshop concluded with a hands on session on assembling and disassembling of car engine. This also included illustration of different systems of car along with the discussion on exploded components of the assembly.  The students also participated in a quiz held at the end of the session. The winners of the Quiz will represent ZHCET, AMU at Rendezvous 2015 at IIT Delhi.

The whole workshop can’t be possible without the hard work of its two coordinators namely Inaam-ur Rahman and MirzaAnas Beg.

The inauguration was attended by Principal, Zakir Hussain College of engineering and Technology, Prof Sher Afghan and other prominent faculty members. The prize distribution ceremony was held in the presence of Students Union representatives from Engg College.
