13th FICCI-FRAMES starts tomorrow

ficci-frames-2013-curtain-raiser-1-1MUMBAI, Mar 11- FICCI Frames is one of the most noteworthy media and entertainment sector trade events in India will begin on March 12 to discuss ways to maximise economic and creative potential in 2013. The media and entertainment industry that encompasses films, broadcast (TV and radio), digital entertainment, animation, gaming, visual effects and many other aspects will be discussed at the three-day event.

The three-day global convention is being organized by industry body Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI). To be inaugurated by Information and Broadcasting Secretary Uday Kumar Verma, the inaugural keynote will be addressed by Motion Picture Association of America chairman and CEO Chris Dodd.

Regularly attended by a large number of eminent dignitaries and professional executives from this sector, the latest industry developments are discussed in detail here. Nearly 2,000 Indian and 800 foreign delegates are expected to attend the 14th edition of Ficci-Frames, themed on “A Tryst with Destiny: Engaging a Billion Consumers”.

Interactive Knowledge Forums and Animation sessions are organized during the show and attendees have the opportunity to attend topical workshops as well. Different varieties of gaming tools, animation equipments, broadcasting instruments, visual effects tools and digital entertainment services are showcased at the event and professionally organized business meetings are also scheduled here.

The country partner this year is Japan and FICCI Frames will see Japanese delegations which include stakeholders from the Japanese media and entertainment industry, mainly in animation segments.

The three-day global convention will witness top international speakers like Oscar winning director Bruce Beresford (Driving Miss Daisy), award-winning editor Mark Goldblatt (Terminator, True Lies, Return of the Planet of the Apes), Fox International Channels and National Geographic Channels International president and CEO Hernan Lopez, Discovery Networks CEO Mark Hollinger and many more. From the Indian film industry, some of the speakers for the convention are Vidya Balan, Chetan Bhagat, Ekta Kapoor, Zoya Akhtar, Farah Khan, Kamal Haasan and others.

The topics to be discussed include digitization censorship, marketing, exhibition and distribution. Also, information ministers of south Asian nations will form an exclusive panel on forging bilateral ties to augment growth among geographically and culturally connected countries.

Key sessions of the event will include “Engaging a Billion Consumers in Media and Entertainment”, which will explore effective and profitable ways to engage the vast Indian audience through various platforms.

The FICCI FRAMES will start from Mar 12 and will continue till Mar 14 at Mumbai’s Renaissance Hotel.
