Abhay Deol felicitates young change makers in support of bindass’ ‘b for change’

b for changeMUMBAI, Mar 21- Bindass, India’s first home grown 360 degree youth entertainment brand’s recent initiative ‘b for change’ is seeing support from many quarters as the channel encourages youngsters to become agents of change. Bollywood’s Youth Icon, Abhay Deol was the guest of honor at a special event held in the capital today to felicitate a few young change makers, whose work has been featured on bindass earlier as a part of ‘b for change’. The initiative reiterates bindass’ brand philosophy of being an ‘Enabler of Purposive Action’ through engaging entertainment that can inspire the Indian youth. The hosts of the channel’s two marquee shows under the ‘b for change’ umbrella, Karan Tacker from ‘Halla Bol’ and Gurpreet Saini from ‘Change Aayega, Hum Laayenge’ were also present at the event to mark their support.

The ‘Change Makers’ who were felicitated at the event included:-

  • Alisha Sharma from Mumbai, who started the ‘Chappal Marungi’ campaign, which encourages victims of eve teasing to fight back the molesters
  • Shreeya Parekh from Bangalore who spreads awareness about environmental issues through her blog  ‘Green living’
  • Rashi Anand from Delhi started  ‘Lakshyam’, India’s first toy library for under privileged children
  • Mishika Singh from Delhi who was one of the founding member of ‘Besharmi Morcha’, a campaign to raise voice against the attitude of blaming rape or sexual harassment on any aspect of a woman’s appearance.

“It was a pleasure to meet and honor these youngsters today. The time is absolutely right for bindass, to present youngsters with a platform like ‘b for change’ which will encourage and inspire them to bring about a change and not just talk about it. This concept instantly connected with me, as I would like to believe that I too have done things differently in many ways whether it’s my career or personal life. It was truly inspiring to hear these young change makers talk about their work and I hope many others get inspired to bring about a change in their own little way”, said Abhay Deol in support of bindass ‘b for change’.

b for change will decode a multitude of issues like corruption, unemployment, education, women safety etc. related to the youth through multiple shows and initiatives. As an extension of this campaign the channel has also launched a website called bforchange.com which is a platform for youngsters to put their thoughts into action.

“b for change” is an initiative by brand bindass towards being an ‘Enabler of Purposive Action’ through engaging entertainment that inspires the young people to galvanize their dreams into reality by being enablers of change. The campaign was launched in early February 2014 with an extremely relevant brand film that captured the different nuances of this generation. Bindass has always mirrored the lives of young Indians and in this film portrays the different shades of today’s young people through 13 short stories showcasing the sentiments of today’s young Indians. As a part of the campaign the channel has also launched a website called bforchange.com which is an extension of the campaign online and a platform for youngsters put their thoughts into action. The campaign will continue on the channel through multiple content offerings including a recently launched show ‘Halla Bol’, Inspired by various true life events, questions social taboos and prejudices and breaks free from gender-biased myths held by many, the show celebrates 8 different stories of women, who fought back harassment / violence and emerged as winners. ‘Change Aayega Hum Laayenge’ will be bindass’ second show offering as a part of the ‘b for change campaign’.
