Symposium on Heart Failure held at AMU

Symposium on heart Failure and Arrhythmias, AMUALIGARH, February 19- The Department of Medicine and Centre of Cardiology, Aligarh Muslim University organized a symposium on “Heart Failure and Arrhythmias”.

Delivering presidential speech, AMU Vice Chancellor, Lt. Gen. (Retd.) Zameer Uddin Shah emphasized the need for organizing such academic meets, which would help to understand the management of heart related problems. He said that a cardiac cath lab will be established in JNMC soon, which would be very useful for heart patients of Aligarh and its surrounding areas.

Guest of honour, Pro-Vice Chancellor, Brig. S. Ahmad Ali appreciated the efforts of the organizers of the Symposium. He said such activities are essential to provide updates on recent advances in any specialty.

Dean, Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Shahjahan Bano welcomed the guest speakers and delegates and emphasized the need to start super specialty course of DM Cardiology.

Prof. S. Abrar Hasan, Officiating Principal, said that the symposium on heart failure will enhance the knowledge of the participants. He said that heart failure is matter of interest not only for cardiologists but also for physicians.

Organizing Chairman, Prof. M. U. Rabban, Director of Cardiology Centre and Chairman, Department of Medicine introduced the topic of the symposium and its importance. He said implantation of specialized pacemakers in heart failure and other devices have revolutionized the management of advance heart failure. He thanked the Vice Chancellor and Pro-Vice Chancellor for taking keen interest in the development of cardiology in J. N. Medical College.

Guest speakers included eminent cardiologists, Padmashri Dr. Balbir Singh, Chief of Electrophysiology, Medanta, Dr. Anoop Gupta from Ahmedabad, Dr. Amit Bhushan from Artermis, Dr. Aditya Kapoor from SGPGI, Dr. Rajeev Agarwal and others.

Prof. Mohammad Shoaib Zaheer proposed a vote of thanks.
