CME on ‘ONCO IMAGING- 2014’ conducted at Aligarh Muslim University

ALIGARH, Aug 21- The Aligarh Chapter of Indian Radiological and Imaging Association (IRIA), in collaboration with Department of Radio Diagnosis, JN Medical College, Aligarh Muslim University, organized State Council Meeting and CME on ‘ONCO-IMAGING-2014’ at JN Medical College.

Dr Rajesh Gothi, Senior Consultant from Diwan Chand Aggrawal Center, New Delhi and an expert in the field of Chest malignancies, delivered the lecture on ‘CA Lung: Recent Advances in screening classification and staging’. In his lecture, he focused on how to detect Lung Cancer at its early stage. Dr Pankaj Sharma and Dr Bhavna Satija from New Delhi also shared their experiences in the treatment of Breast and Cervical Malignancies in women.

Professor Tariq Mansoor, Principal and CMS, JN Medical College urged the doctors to acquire more knowledge and apply the same in dealing with the malignant patients so that they could get early treatment. He appreciated the initiative taken by Professor Mohammad Khalid and Department of Radio Diagnosis.

Secretary, IRIA, UP state chapter, Professor Mohammad Khalid, said that the main purpose of holding CME on ‘ONCO IMAGING – 2014’ was to sensitize the students in training regarding the increased incidents of Malignancies and recent trends of Imaging Protocols used by Radiologists to diagnose the malignancies at the earliest.

Prominent faculties from New Delhi and UP including the members of Indian Radiological Society, along with senior faculty members of JN Medical College, attended the CME.

A Quiz Competition was also organized in which Dr Bharti Selvam, JR II, Dr Somit Mittal, JR III and Dr Paul Prakash Raymond, JR III, won the first, second and third prizes respectively.
