batori.in_2gfdhGUWAHATI: The economic blockade against Arunachal Pradesh to protest the killing of 10 people in Assam continued for the second day on Friday, affecting the supply of essential goods to the hill state.

The Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti (KMSS)-led agitation spread to new places on Friday as hundreds more joined in and blocked NH 52 at several places to protest the killing of 10 villagers of Chauldhuwa at Behali by unidentified gunmen from Arunachal on Wednesday afternoon.

Protesters said the blockade would continue till the killers are nabbed. KMSS leader Akhil Gogoisaid, “More and more people are joining the blockade and it is going to intensify in the coming days.” Police said at least 20 trucks are stranded at Borgang.

The last rites of the 10 villagers were completed late on Thursday night after all of them were identified. Rumours about the recovery of three more bodies in the border area on Friday morning lead to more tension in the area. But Sonitpur SP Sanjukta Parasor said no more bodies were recovered and there are no reports of any missing persons.
